Jenny is on HRT but needed more support
I now use HRT and my own bespoke Hope Health supplement to give me my active life back with comfortable joints
In her mid-40s, Jenny began experiencing many of the symptoms that women often associate with hormonal change. Sleep became disrupted, her joints became increasingly uncomfortable, and despite remaining active and enjoying sport, she found herself feeling older than she expected.
After discussions with her healthcare team, Jenny started HRT. Initially, she felt improvements. Her sleep was better, her energy improved, and she felt more like herself again.
However, after around six months, something still wasn’t right.
Despite the HRT helping in some areas, Jenny’s joints continued to ache. In fact, some days she felt more uncomfortable than she expected. As someone who enjoyed keeping active, this was frustrating and confusing.
Having trusted the Hope Health team for many years with the wellbeing of her animals, Jenny decided to reach out for support herself.
What she found was not judgement, criticism, or pressure to change any medication she was taking. Instead, she received education, understanding, and a deeper explanation of what may be influencing how she felt.
The team explained that while hormones can play an important role, they are only one piece of a much larger biological picture. Nutrient status, inflammation, gut health, food sensitivities, recovery, stress, and individual biochemical needs can all influence how somebody feels, regardless of whether they are using HRT.
For Jenny, this finally made sense.
Decades of working with horses, dogs, and humans have given the Hope Health team a unique perspective. While species are obviously different, many of the biological systems involved in inflammation, metabolism, hormones, recovery and nutrition operate through remarkably similar pathways. Many medications used across human and veterinary medicine also target the same biological mechanisms.
As part of her journey, Jenny undertook DNA and nutritional testing to gain a deeper understanding of how her body was functioning. The results highlighted several areas where her genetic tendencies, reported symptoms and nutritional requirements appeared to align.
Interestingly, a number of the patterns identified through her DNA profile and symptom assessment were later reflected in blood test findings reviewed by her medical team. Several concerns Jenny had already discussed with Hope Health were present long before they reached levels that would typically trigger medical intervention, as her results still sat within standard reference ranges.
Rather than waiting for symptoms to worsen, Jenny’s programme focused on supporting the areas her body appeared to be struggling with most. Through targeted nutritional support, dietary refinement and ongoing monthly adjustments, she was able to address these underlying imbalances while continuing to work alongside her healthcare professionals.
Over time, the symptoms that had originally prompted her to seek additional support began to improve and, in many cases, resolved completely.
Perhaps most importantly, Jenny regained the confidence and physical comfort to return to activities she loves. Before working with Hope Health, the thought of competing in 5K runs again felt unrealistic. The combination of HRT, a deeper understanding of her own biology, dietary refinement and her bespoke Hope Health formulation helped her feel strong enough to return to training and competition.
Today, Jenny is back enjoying 5K events and maintaining the active lifestyle that has always been an important part of her wellbeing.
For Jenny, this was a powerful reminder that feeling unwell and being told your results are “within range” are not always the same thing. Understanding her individual biology allowed her to make informed decisions before issues became more significant.
Using all of this information, a personalised nutritional programme was created specifically for her needs. Her formulation is refined monthly as her requirements change and is delivered automatically, ensuring her programme evolves alongside her health journey.
Today, Jenny continues to work alongside her healthcare professionals while using her bespoke Hope Health programme as complementary support.
Her biggest takeaway?
You do not have to choose between conventional healthcare and nutritional support. For many people, the most effective approach is a combination of both.
Jenny would encourage anyone using HRT who still doesn’t feel quite as well as they hoped to speak to the Hope Health team. Sometimes the missing piece isn’t changing what you’re already doing—it’s understanding what else your body may be asking for.
For Jenny, that understanding helped her move from simply managing symptoms to getting back to doing the things she loves.
