Petal's Story: The Pain of Pancreatitis and Cushings
Painful and recurring condition under control
Cocker Spaniels are prone to we are told to stomach conditions like pancreatitis. We wish we had the knowledge of what we have learned over time from the beginning.
The first bout of pancreatitis was frightening as the poor dog was vomiting uncontrollably and clearly in a lot of distress. The second bout was almost fatal and involved a prolonged hospital stay in Newmarket.
A complete change of diet was implemented including a bespoke to support her immune system and digestive tract.
Although she didn't much like the idea of changing feed initially, she soon adapted but then she was pestering us for food all the time. In conjunction with medication, her bespoke was adapted to help her with the severe symptoms of cushings disease including massive hunger and excessive thirst.
Petal is no longer with us but her final years were happy and she led a full life with walks and cuddles right to the end. Grateful thanks to Jayne and the team who helped her so much.
